I finish my painting and leave a bit early to make the Chris Holmes photo experience. I realise I have lost my ear plugs, they are pretty expensive and I don’t have spares except for cheap foam ones, so out of desperation I say to the crowd who are already there, has anyone seen any ear plugs. To my complete amazement one man says what colour are they?

Jocke was tireless in running around and keeping the energy high on the stage and the crowd were putty in their hands. Original drummer Adde was not there having been unable to make the Cruise. I hot foot it to Vandenberg, but they were having technical difficulties, so with the delay I have to get to see Autograph in the Star Lounge, but on the way I see Nuno Bettencourt and get a selfie, everything happens for a reason! Jimi Bell is now established as their guitar player.

Also out of all the people in the theatre, thousands, he was in earshot when I asked in a hopeless manner if anyone had found the plugs. I still have the naughty earplugs and am very grateful to have received them back. But along with the George Lynch incident the day before I am beginning to think I should have bought extra lottery tickets.
About the Festival Monsters of Rock Cruise At-a-Glance
Apparently one critic said “they are not even a new Bang Tango” and they write a song to get back at him. They have already lost a man, apparently Martin had a big win at the Casino last night and he is sleeping off his celebrating into early Sunday morning (isn’t that one of their songs?). Apparently Jocke combines the set list “me, me, me, me”. He tells the story about how after a sold out show in Gothenburg his mum finally realised why he decided he wanted to do, what he now does, when he saw Motley Crue when he was nine.
Pearl Jam's Mike McCready on Mad Season and Almost Starting a Band with Kurt Cobain: Podcast Rewind
There’s one large black guy who knows every word of every one of her songs and she makes a total fuss of him. She is also well aware that every one here could be on the beach instead and, as a consummate front woman, she makes everyone feel special. Still kicking high and reaching all the high notes she looks half her age. Playing the guitar everyone is reminded that she is not only a front woman, but writes and produces her own material. Interestingly they deliver a different version of ‘Metal Queen’ with a slower riff and more of a bluesy groove, reflecting the way her material has been going for a fair few years now. Everyone’s cruise experience is different, as there are literally thousands of ways you can spend your day.
I make it to Eddie Trunk’s interview of Larry Morand who talks about his experiences as owner and promoter of the cruise, and Doro who talks about her future plans, she is still as dedicated as ever to her music and looks amazing. She talks about it never being a problem for her to be a women as she was always supported by the huge bands around her like Dio, Saxon and Motorhead. She says she saw Gene Simmons a few days ago, he apparently asked her “How’s the money situation? ” We all laughed as how true to form he always is. Plus, official cruise host Eddie Trunk (VH1, SiriusXM) will be moderating Q&A’s and activities specifically designed to bring the party up a notch. The five-day/five-night full-ship music charter will set sail April 29– May 4 aboard Royal Caribbean’s Mariner of the Seas, departing from Port Canaveral, FLA.
On my way to the Hardcore Superstar Q and A I see Davy Vain by the lift, he is friendly and relaxed. It is surreal to see so many famous faces everywhere you go. HCSS are telling funny stories about how their worst show ever is in full on the Internet.
Another amazing band with amazing songs, very nostalgic as they performed under pictures of the band as younger men. The ship has reached the Dominican Republic where I have never been, so I make a point of getting off the ship. On my way back I see Hessu from Reckless love and Jacob Bunton also wandering out to take a look. My first stop is Michael Schenker doing a mixture of his solo albums and the biggest UFO hits.
They talk about how surreal it is to have major stars like Slash in their dressing room at events like Sweden Rock. Official cruise host Eddie Trunk (VH1, SiriusXM) will be moderating Q&As and activities specifically designed to bring the party up a notch. As for the Private Isle of Labadee, cruise-goers can partake in its many bars and pristine waters. In addition, there are plenty of exciting options to choose from, including wave jet rides, parasailing, snorkel safaris, kayak tours and much more. The lineup for the 2023 Monsters of Rock Cruise has been announced, featuring ’80s hard rock and metal acts like Tesla, Queensrÿche, Winger, and Extreme, along with newer outfits like Mac Sabbath (the McDonald’s-themed Black Sabbath cover band), Tyler Bryant & The Shakedown, and more. Lee Aaron is in the theatre and she is running around like a teenager, totally rocking the place.
I find out from the horse’s mouth that the show will go ahead instead on another day. An experience I will never forget and I have only been on the cruise an hour or two. Next up is the Private Isle of Labadee, the ultimate private destination for cruisers, offering adventure, exploration and relaxation amongst its many bars and pristine waters.
I am glad I caught the whole of both of their sets as they announce they won’t be on the Cruise next year. Boarding the ship check, Internet arranged check, hand luggage dropped off, I jump right in with a concert from Vain who did everything he could to engage the audience. Unfortunately some people are still getting on the ship, but he does not let that spoil a thing for those that make it. Paul Taylor from Winger joined as a special guest as apparently he was in high school with Davy, who knew that!!
That album featured the acoustic ballad single "More Than Words", which reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 in the United States. I manage to catch Hardcore Superstar in the theatre.
